What do I collect?

UNIQUE Discord Invite IDs

UNIQUE icons used, with no linking or association to what Invite ID is being tracked in conjunction with it

What does unique mean?

If person A and person B both track the same invite link for example "ltt" - I will only get that invite link for the 'Linus Tech Tips' Discord server. What invite ID, not who.

Same goes to the icons really.

The invite link IDs aren't being shared with anyone and the icon used is never associated with the Invite ID in the collected data.

In the future I plan to add a feature which will have a opt-in-only toggle that will post these invites publicly on my Discord server in a dedicated channel - as a sort of spotlight :)

In which case their invite link is being visible to anyone, and only the invite link. It is posted only once, and Discord processes it according to their privacy policy - like any other Discord message.

There's no opt out for the non-public invite link gathering, because it helps me prevent abuse and anticipate higher load on the host - if you're afraid I will join your server and call you names - don't be :)

If your server is super duper top secret, you shouldn't be putting your invite link in random places - and maybe Discord isn't the best place for you if you require top confidentiality.

Why do I collect these things?

Like I said above, it helps me prevent abuse and anticipate higher load on the host.

I might also find out some big community is using my app and I might introduce a custom icon for them :)

Collecting Icon IDs just helps me discover cool icons for the LaMetric :D
